Concerts are held on first Friday of the month

OUR JANUARY CONCERT

Chris Powell at Woodhall Spa
Despite freezing temperatures some 40 people ventured out for our first concert of 2026 which was given by the very talented and entertaining organist Chris Powell.
Their efforts were not in vain and Chris gave us a very upbeat and entertaining concert, which was greatly appreciated by everyone who attended.
He opened very appropriately being New Year with “The Radetsky March”, followed by Cilla Black’s “You’re My World”. He played “Midnight in Moscow” in the style of Kenny Ball, “The Entertainer” followed by a medley of Neil Diamond music including the immortal “Sweet Caroline”. A brilliant performance of Offenbach’s Overture “Orpheus in the Underworld” followed and the first half concluded with a Theatre Organ medley.
Chris opened the second half of the concert with a very extensive medley of Beatles music and music from some of the classic films that have been on Television over the Christmas period. He also included “The Dambusters” as he felt it was a must for Woodhall Spa! He brought the second half to a rousing conclusion with music from The Last Night of the Proms which included “Jerusalem”, The Sea Songs, “Rule Brittannia” and Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance March No.1”.
We had a really good evening of music which was hugely enjoyed by everyone there.
Next month our concert, which is on Friday February 6th. will be given by Andrew
