OUR MARCH CONCERT
WITH IAN GRIFFIN
Ian Griffin at Woodhall Spa
In spite of quite a few of our members being prevented from attending due to illness we still managed a decent number in the audience to hear Ian Griffin.
Ian gave us a wonderful evening of music and entertainment with the second half being given over to a non stop medley of our requests.
His first half began with "My Little Lady", a tune by The Tremoloes and was followed "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me". We had a Bossa Nova and a lovely little known song called "What Colour is the Wind?" He played a superb tribute medley to Neil Sedaka, then some Abba music and then a lovely medley of Matt Monroe music, which included "Born Free", "Portrait of My Love" and "Softly as I Leave You". The first half finished with a magnificent rendering of "Wales Forever!"
Ian's second half was played as a non stop medley of music made up from audience requests. It comprised 28 songs and was played faultlessly. There were tunes such as "Penny Arcade", "Bring Him Home", "Summer Holiday", Highland Cathedral", "Perfidia" and much, much more. The audience loved it and gave Ian a tremendous ovation at the end.
Next month our concert, which is on Friday April 3rd. will be given by Elizabeth
Harrison. We look forward to seeing you all, so do make a note in your diary for
